'The Little Easter Snake' by Mary Mize, Illustrated by Darcy Peters
Little Snake and Little Mouse are back in Mary Mize’s second wordless picture book, Little Easter Snake. Mize’s book once again shares a precious and pure story of friendship between Little Snake and Little Mouse through the brilliant, yet simple illustrations by Darcy Peters.
While the book is a perfect story to explore for Easter, the message that comes across is appropriate for any time of the year. Little Easter Snake mirrors that of Little Christmas Snake, where one friend must be rescued by another — only this time, they are surrounded by the festivities surrounding the Easter holiday instead of Christmas. The colorful drawings without words foster a book designed so the reader uses their own imagination to tell the story, even if the result is always the same. What kind of adventure will you have Little Snake and Little Mouse embark on?
Little Easter Snake is available through Amazon, and a portion of all proceeds go towards Easter Seals, a nonprofit providing disability services, with additional support areas serving veteran and military families, seniors, and caregivers.
