Troutfishing in America’s dynamic duo is coming to Bryan on April 11 to perform two concerts benefiting Voices for Children, the Brazos Valley’s court appointed special advocacy organization.
Troutfishing in America is the longstanding musical partnership of Keith Grimwood and Ezra Idlet. Called “…the Lennon and McCartnre of kids’ music” by National Public Radio, these four-time Grammy-nominated artists have visited the Brazos Valley community a number of times throughout the years and are a staple of family-friendly entertainment.
AdventGX has partnered with Voices for Children to produce two concerts on Saturday, April 11, and both will benefit Voices for Children. A family concert will be held 11 a.m. at Bryan Civic Auditorium and a second concert will be held that evening at Grand Stafford Theater. Tickets for both events are available at GrandStaffordTheater.com.
Voices for Children’s CASA volunteers advocate for abused and neglected children in Brazos, Burleson, and Grimes counties, placing children in safe, permanent homes. Each CASA volunteer serves as Guardian ad Litem for one child or sibling set throughout the child welfare court system. CASAs provide the detailed information necessary for judges to safeguard the children’s best interests and ensure they are placed in safe, permanent homes as quickly as possible.
Advent GX opened the 100-year-old Grand Stafford Theater in Fall 2012 as a community development project showcasing the economic potential of the arts and heritage preservation. The theater now features state of the art sound and lighting and has been host to Grammy-award winning artists, up-and-coming talent and local musicians across a wide variety of genre. Advent GX is a community and economic development consulting firm headquartered in Historic Downtown Bryan.
