Nobody sets out to become one – heroes reveal themselves by showing great courage in the face of adversity or difficulty.
Friends of Brazos Valley Heroes, Inc. is inviting the public to come out in support of Brazos Valley heroes – both veterans and emergency responders – who put their lives on the line for everyone.
Saturday, February 28, the state-sanctioned Good Bull BBQ Cook-off will be raising funds and awareness in support of local heroes. Entertainment will include food vendors, arts and crafts booths, a kids’ zone, live and silent auctions, and musical entertainment featuring Sabine River Bend, Project X, and Chris Crow. The day will culminate with a dance at 7 p.m. with music by Parker Heights.
Anyone who wants to kick things off early is invited to come out Friday night for the $10 Open Margarita Competition (shaken, stirred or frozen). Dinner will be served while supplies last to those donating at least $10.
Everyone is invited to this family friendly event at the Kurten Community Center. The bidding on outstanding merchandise, listening to live jam sessions in the park, and the opportunity to say “Thank you” to some real, live heroes will all be on tap.
All proceeds will go to support Brazos Valley veterans and first responders.
