Fiction Writers Roundup Has Five Adult Fiction Authors Speaking

Larry J. Ringer Library and Brazos Writers are holding an event with five authors from various adult fiction genres. Laura Castoro, Celeste Connally, Diane Kelly, M.R. Parsons, and Colleen Thompson will share fascinating and informative insights with readers and writers. All authors will be at Ringer Library, including Diane Kelly who is visiting from North Carolina.
Each author will speak about a selected topic for about 15 minutes, and then the event will open to question and answer. Books will be available to purchase onsite through Hyperbole Bookstore. - Laura Castoro will talk about How Writers Read: The Deconstruction Process Writers Go Through When Reading a Book. Laura Castoro has also written as Laura Parker and as D.D. Ayres. She has written historical and contemporary romance, westerns, sagas, contemporary African American fiction, women’s fiction, and romantic suspense. Her latest book is Love on the Line.
- Celeste Connally will talk about Research: Getting Historical Details Right. Celeste Connally also writes as S.C. Perkins. She writes historical fiction, romance, and mystery. Her latest book is Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Lord, and its sequel comes out this fall.
- Diane Kelly will talk about Publishing Options: What's The Best Choice For You and Your Story? Diane writes funny mysteries and cozy mysteries. She lives in North Carolina. Her latest book is Four-Alarm Homicide, part of the House Flipper Mysteries.
- M.R. (Mason) Parsons will talk about Plotting and Outlining For Individual Books and Series. M.R. Parsons writes science fiction. He lives in Austin. His first two books are Exodus and Tribulation.
- Colleen Thompson will talk about Agents and Editors: Who Does What? Colleen Thompson writes romantic suspense. She lives in the Houston area. Her latest book is Secrets of Lost Hope Canyon. She has a book coming out in December.
Hyperbole Bookstore is an independent bookstore in College Station. They will be handling onsite book sales at the event and donating a portion of the proceeds to the Friends of the Library.
