This neighborhood coffee shop and bakery is owned by Sam and Anel Olmedo, who married in Morelia, Mexico, their favorite city, which was founded in 1541 — hence their business’ name. Anel Olmedo graduated from Le Cordon Bleu in Austin and was a pastry chef at The Republic steakhouse prior to the couple opening their shop in 2011. Their signature drink is the 1541 Special, a mocha with espresso and chocolate.

Known for its specialty, scratch-made doughnuts, Babe’s also serves hand-crafted coffee drinks to enjoy with its pastries and other breakfast offerings. Babe’s beans are from local roasting company Polite Coffee. This coffee shop opened at the end of 2019, across the street from Texas A&M University’s campus. As the name suggests, the building used to be a Sinclair service station, and Carport carry out that inspiration of being “in transit” to its menu, engineering it to be on the go. Most popular among its specialty drinks in cool weather is the Milk & Honey, a cinnamon and honey latte. In the summer, the Brown Dog, a chocolate milk and iced coffee combination, takes the lead.

Gogh Gogh is named after artist Vincent van Gogh, and the inside of the store reflects that inspiration by featuring murals and local artists’ work. Harvest’s original location in downtown Bryan opened in 2014, and the business expanded with a second location in Century Square at the beginning of 2019. As its name suggests, agriculture plays a big part in how Harvest sources its products, and it is the driving motivation behind their coffee menu. The signature drink is the Harvest Latte, a gourmet vanilla latte made with hand-dressed vanilla beans and raw sugar, available hot or iced. Local couple Fernando and Gabriella Vasquez first opened their tiny store in a strip mall off of Texas Avenue as a bakery and added coffee later. They got their start when Fernando Vasquez, who is originally from Guatemala, missed home and asked his wife to make some traditional breads. The bread became so popular among friends and family that they decided to sell it, and the shop was born. Among the shop’s most popular drinks are the Cinnamon Delight and Fernando’s Favorite. Before this worldwide phenom made coffee-on-the-go a trendy necessity, it was an independent coffee shop in Seattle's historic Pike Place Market. Founded in 1971, the company's global expansion began in the ‘90s when it went public. In addition to coffee drinks, customers can purchase beans, teas, light fare, and branded Starbucks paraphernalia. There are currently several in-store and drive-thru locations in Bryan College Station, one in Brenham, and a new location is on the way at Wellborn Road and Southwest Parkway.

This funky combination coffeehouse and bakery has been Aggie-owned and operated since it opened in 1993. Its eclectic interior matches the fun story behind its unique name: the owner’s childhood friend Paul was misnamed Eugene by the local newspaper, and it stuck as a nickname, morphing into Sweet Eugene in college. The Brew started out as a little church café, only open on Sundays for Connecting Point Church’s services.
