Downtown Bryan Association will host the 6th Annual Downtown Street and Art Fair, Saturday, April 18, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The event features artists and artisans from across the region selling handmade creations and works of art. There will also be live music entertainment throughout the day. A hands-on art activity area for children of all ages will be organized and sponsored by Purple Turtle Art Studio and the Creative Capsule. Children will be able to make their own pieces of art and take home as a souvenir.
The MonuMetal Showcase will be a new addition to this year’s Art Fair. The MonuMetal Competition features teams creating sculptures from scrap metal donated by Bryan Iron and Metal. The finished sculptures will be on display the week leading up to Art Fair in Downtown businesses and then sold through a silent auction during the Art Fair. The sculptures will be less than four feet tall for easy portability of the purchasers to take home and showcase.
Throughout the last several years, Downtown Bryan has actively fostered arts and
culture. The Art Fair continues to build on that by inviting local and artists to support the rebirth continuing in Downtown Bryan. Admission is free and participants are encouraged to spend the day experiencing all Downtown Bryan has to offer.
