The Blinn College District is bringing comedy, music, and a holiday classic to Brenham during the 2018-19 Performing Arts Series.
This season’s series includes Yesterday and Today: The Interactive Beatles Experience, Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, Second City: Made in America (Some Assembly Required), and The Doo Wop Project.
Season tickets for the 2018-19 season are $125 for four shows. New season ticket purchasers can upgrade to premier season tickets for an additional $40.
Individual tickets are $35. Discounts are available for children ages 10 and under for $15, and groups of 10 or more for $30. Blinn employees can purchase tickets for $30. Blinn student rush tickets are $10. Single reception tickets will be available up to five days prior to the event for $20.

The season begins Sunday, Oct. 28, at 4pm with Yesterday and Today: The Interactive Beatles Experience. Do you have a favorite Beatles song? Share that with the McGuigan brothers, and your song could be selected for the concert set list.
The Performing Arts Series continues Sunday, Dec. 2, at 4pm with Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. With 26 beloved Christmas carols, a cast of 20, and beautiful sets and costumes, A Christmas Carol is the perfect way to ring in the holiday season without the big city traffic. Audience members are invited to participate in a toy drive accompanying the show that will benefit CASA for Kids of South Central Texas.
At 4pm, on Feb. 24, Blinn brings Second City: Made in America (Some Assembly Required) to Brenham audiences. The Second City celebrates what makes America tick in a hilarious revue that is always fast, fresh, and spectacularly funny. See the troupe that has launched the careers of comedy’s best and brightest, such as Bill Murray, Stephen Colbert, and Tina Fey.
The Performing Arts Series will conclude with The Doo Wop Project on Sunday, March 31, at 4pm. The stars from Broadway’s smash hits, Jersey Boys and Motown: The Musical, recreate ’50s and ’60s favorites and “re-doo” contemporary pop hits by stars like Jason Mraz, Adele, and Maroon 5.
In addition to providing incredible entertainment, Blinn’s Performing Arts Series is also a unique academic program. At Blinn, theatre students serve as the “local crew,” filling roles such as stagehand, deck electrician, follow spot operator, wardrobe assistant, audio technician, and countless other stage-related jobs. They are responsible for running much of the show in partnership with tour artists and crew under the supervision of Blinn Technical Theatre Arts Director Kevin Patrick.
