With smiles on their faces and a pair of huge scissors in their hands, the Brazos Valley Symphony Orchestra officials celebrated the opening of their new office building by cutting a red ribbon right out front. Their new location is 750 William D. Fitch Pkwy, Suite 430-B, in South College Station.
In addition to the ribbon cutting, the opening event consisted of a chance to win door prizes, a food layout provided by Napa Flats and HEB, and some tasty refreshments brought by the Messina Hof Winery. There was also a chance to speak to some representatives of the Brazos Valley Chamber of Commerce and a few of the Brazos Valley Symphony supporters.
For Mary Koeninger, executive director of BVSO, the new location couldn’t have been better.
“This location came up and fit our needs exactly, we couldn’t be happier,” says Koeninger. “We are so proud to be in this space and that we are able to give better service to our community.”
Coming from their humble beginnings, Koeninger and the rest of the staff were very excited about the new opportunity for growth. “We are growing by leaps and bounds,” says Koeninger. “We are so thankful to the wonderful people that support the symphony and make all of this possible.”
They are also excited for their upcoming 36th season and spoke of some nice surprises to expect from their upcoming performances. Two of the biggest surprises announced are the showcasing of the 2017 Cliburn Gold Medalist, Yekwon Sunwoo of South Korea, and a performance with Billboards Magazine top 10 ranked classical artist, The Texas Tenors.
