The Burton Heritage Society will host the 10th annual Texas Ranger Day at the Burton Railroad Depot on Saturday, March 27 from noon to 5 p.m. Admission is free, and tickets for all-you-can-eat fajitas, beans, and chuckwagon chili are $10 for adults and $5 for children aged five to 10.
The event will celebrate Burton’s history and honor both former and current Texas Rangers. Events will include demonstrations by the Legends of the Texas Rangers, the Annie Maud Avis Memorial Fajita and Bean cook-off, live action by the Old West Rangers, folklife demonstrations (including blacksmithing and chuckwagon cooking), mule-driven buggy rides, music courtesy of the DJ Kountry Chick, and tours of the historic Railroad Depot. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., there will also be tours of the historic Burton Farmers Cotton Gin. The Lil' Mr. and Miss Ranger contest will be starting at 1 p.m.
