The Brazos Valley Symphony Orchestra and Music Director Marcelo Bussiki announces the orchestra’s much-anticipated 2020-2021 season, its 39th year serving the Bryan College Station community and all of the Brazos Valley. Named A Gallery of Styles, the 2020-2021 subscription series includes four symphonic performances offering an incredible array of musical experiences featuring well-known composers, exclusive guest artists, and the world-class BVSO musicians.
“Returning to the stage after nine months in hiatus is a reinvigorating experience for me and our musicians," says Bussiki. "The restrictive conditions imposed by the pandemic, however, have a bright side; it demanded that we make adjustments, be flexible and creative. It brought the well-being of our patrons and musicians to the forefront of symphony programming. It is in that adventurous and cautious spirt that I designed what I believe is a very unique and enjoyable season."
This season’s 2020-2021 subscription series concerts have changed venue from the Rudder Theatre Complex on the Texas A&M campus to the Brazos County Expo located at 5827 Leonard Road in Bryan.
The BVSO will be working to make sure that every performance complies with all local, state, and federal guidelines to ensure that appropriate health precautions are recognized and implemented for patrons’ convenience, safety, and enjoyment of the concerts, including requiring the wearing of masks. If any patron is concerned in any way, it is recommended they not attend and instead take advantage of a new option, the VIA VIDEO ticket.
The VIA VIDEO ticket is available to those who may not wish to attend the concert in person. Within three to four days after the concert, patrons who have bought a VIA VIDEO ticket will receive a link in their email which enables them to watch the concert conveniently from their own home for one week.
“During our 2020-2021 season we will be showcasing great hidden unique musical treasures alongside Beethoven, Brahms, and Mozart. I hope that our patrons have as much fun enjoying the music as I had selecting it,” says Bussiki.
