Start your holiday weekend in Bellville on Saturday, July 3 from 9 a.m. to noon at the First Saturday Bellville Farmers and Artisan Market. The event will be held under the Jim Bishop Pavilion, adjacent to Chesley Park and playground.
Bring a cooler to this kid-friendly, dog-friendly show with more than 30 farmers and artisan market vendors under the pavilion shade. There is a huge variety of fresh summer fruits and vegetables, grass-fed beef and chicken, and homemade baked goods to satisfy any sweet tooth. There are eggs, local honey, oils, vinegars, pastas, jellies, soaps, beard oils, dog treats, an old-fashioned lemonade stand, and more. Visitors can also enjoy wine tastings and take a bottle home for a Fourth of July celebration.
Attendees can stroll the Downtown Square to enjoy lunch and boutique shopping or take the Austin County Jail Museum tour from 11 a.m.–3 p.m. Other activities include touring of Newman’s Castle or throwing tomahawks and building a souvenir knife with Cowboy at Phenix Knives from 10 a.m.–5 p.m. inside the 1890s blacksmith shop. Parking and admission are free. For more information, call (979) 865-3407 or visit discoverbellville.com or Bellville Farmers Markets.
