Chisholm Trail Winery 2367 Usener Rd., Fredericksburg The first winery on the trail started producing wine for the public in 1999 and has a 15,000-gallon capacity of wine tank space. With expansion plans in the works, Chisholm Trail offers a variety of wines, including their 2014 Ghost Rider Sweet Red Wine and their 2013 Captured - Dry Rose, which won silver and bronze medals in the 2015 Lone Star International. Fredericksburg Winery 247 West Main Street, Fredericksburg Deep in the heart of the Texas Hill Country lies a winery named one of the top three producers in Texas by USA Today. Operated by the Switzer Family, Fredericksburg Winery produces its wine in a 10,600-square-foot facility on Main Street. So far, it has bought production grapes exclusively from Texas vineyards. Lost Draw Cellars 113 E Park St., Fredricksburg Operated by Andy Timmons and his team, Lost Draw Cellars opened in 2014, eight years after the establishment of Lost Draw Vineyards. The tasting room is located a few blocks off Main Street in Fredericksburg. Lost Draw Cellars wine selections include a 2012 Tempranillo, a Texas red with notes of leather, cherry, and vanilla, and a 2014 Arroyo Rose. www.lostdrawcellars.com
Rancho Ponte 315 Ranch Road 1376, Fredericksburg Rancho Ponte’s owners moved to Texas from California and established the 20-acre winery five miles east of Fredericksburg. Among the wine selections include a 2014 Dolcetto, with hints of dried plums and white pepper, and a 2014 Montepulciano. www.ranchoponte.com
Fiesta Winery 18727 W FM 580, Lometa Fiesta Winery operates along the Colorado River on a ranch that has been in the family for six generations. For 2016, the winery has planted five acres of Viognier, Montepulciano, and Marsanne grapes. www.fiestawinery.com

US Highway 290, Fredericksburg The Four Point O Cellars is a Fredericksburg winery born from the collaboration of three different Texas winemakers: Brennan Vineyards; Lost Oak Winery; and McPherson Cellars. Grape Creek Vineyards 10587 East US Highway 290, Fredericksburg This Fredericksburg winery incorporates Tuscan elements into their wine experience, adorning its tasting room with rustic vibes and a tile roof. The vineyard features Stout’s at Grape Creek Vineyards Trattoria, a restaurant offering casual Italian cuisine paired with Grape Creek wine. Torre di Pietra 10915 E US Hwy 290 Torre di Pietra’s wine production tradition can be traced back to the late 1800s. Torre di Pietra’s wines include a 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon, with notes of plum and oak, and a Parada, a Texas red wine. www.torredipietra.com
Becker Vineyards 464 Becker Farms Rd, Stonewall Becker Vineyards is a 20-year-old award-winning winery known for their lavender plants. Hilmy Cellars 12346 E US Hwy 290, Fredericksburg Operated by Erik and Neldie Hilmy, Hilmy Cellars planted its first vineyard 2009. Following the vineyard’s planting came the construction of the winery and tasting rooms. Woodrose Winery 662 Woodrose Lane, Stonewall Located 14 miles east of Fredericksburg, Woodrose Winery was purchased by Mike Guilette in 2005 and is quickly expanding. The winery’s wide variety of wines include a 2010 Sea Breeze, a sweet wine blend of Ruby Cabernet and Muscat, and a 2014 Rose of Mourvedre, a rose with hints of watermelon and strawberry. www.woodrosewinery.com
Pedernales Cellars 2916 Upper Albert Rd., Stonewall This family owned and operated winery specializes in Spanish and Rhone style wines. William Chris 10352 US Hwy 290, Hye The tasting room of this winery is located in a 100-year-old farmhouse, which is the starting point of a walking tour of the property accented with oak trees. Hye Meadow Winery 10257 W US Hwy 290, Hye This winery spans 62 acres off Highway 290 and offers a space to drink wine and enjoy the Texas Hill Country scenery. Hye Meadow’s wine choices include a 2015 Sundown, which is noted to taste similarly to cotton candy, and a 2014 Roussanne, a white wine with hints of lemon, grilled pineapple, and honey. www.hyemeadow.com
Texas Hills Vineyard 878 RR 2766, Johnson City Operated by Gary and Kathy Gilstrap and son, Texas Hills Vineyard grows seven different types of grapes, including merlot and Orange Moscato.
