Friday, March 4, is March First Friday in Downtown Bryan.
The Nightowls will have a much-anticipated returning performance at The Palace Theater starting at 8 pm with free admission. The Nightowls were a big hit at the Summer Sunset Series last year, and will rock the house with their soulful sounds. The critically acclaimed Southern Soul band had one of Austin Chronicle’s 2014 Top 10 albums of the year, and performed around the country, including notable festivals like Austin City Limits. Elementary school choirs in Bryan ISD will also take the stage from 6-7pm.
Enjoy live music and great shopping deals this First Friday. Corner of Time and North Hair Design will have storewide sales, and Texas Rose will debut their spring arrivals. After shopping, head over to Om Grown Yoga and Tea Bar for a free yoga class from 6-7pm. This recurring event has become a First Friday favorite, offering a relaxing yoga practice for the stress of the previous month.
The Riddle Gallery will debut their show, Texas Heroes, this First Friday from 6-10pm. The exhibit is dedicated to the sons and daughters of Texas, and will feature artwork by the artists at the award-winning Arsenal Tattoo in Downtown Bryan. For more art, visit the Parker Astin Art Center from 6–9:30pm for the debut of the retrospective art exhibition by Margrit Ilika. The show is a timeline of Ilika’s life and will be on display through April.
Live music abounds First Friday. At 7:30pm, Grand Stafford Theater will host a free First Friday show featuring The Rotisserie Chickens, Aaron Stephens, and Mystery Loves Company. For those who like to stay out late, Murphy’s Law will have a free performance with throwback 90's music by local favorites, The Wannabees from 9pm-12am.
