About the Artists:
Bonnie Walton, a lifelong resident of College Station, began her career using her talents with glass by opening a stained glass studio in Bryan, Texas in 1975. She personally designed custom stained glass windows for many homes and businesses in Bryan/College Station and Houston, Texas. She taught her students the art of making stained glass windows, etched and beveled glass. After closing her studio she pursued a career in teaching where she contributed her craft and artistic abilities to her students. Since retiring she has focused her skills on glass once more, adding the art of warm glass. Having perfected the skill under the teaching of glass artists Cyndi Seaberger and Kent Lauer, she has cofounded Crafty Sippers with her lifelong friend Susie Hitchcock.
Susie Hitchcock started her career in cold glass in 1975 creating stained glass windows and teaching stained glass art classes in Bryan. Traveling throughout the country she expanded her art talents and teaching skills to include ceramic creations, original artistic designs on fired bisk. Currently she is creating in warm glass art which encompasses glass designs such as jewelry, bowls, crosses and ornaments – all of which are fired in a kiln. Being crafty and artistic Susie has always enjoyed painting fun, whimsical and abstract pictures that can be taught to anyone no matter their artistic talent or level of expertise. Finally, now settled in College Station, she is co-founder of Crafty Sippers where all her talents come together to teach with her lifelong friend Bonnie Walton.
