As a continuation of the successful free concert series held in June, the Downtown Bryan Association will host the Summer Sunset Series Encore on August 20 and 27 at the Palace Theater. As before, each Thursday will feature high-energy performances from local and regional bands playing from 8-10:30pm in the open-air venue at the corner of Main and 26th St.
Supported in part by local businesses and the DBA, the concerts fit within the DBA's mission of showcasing Downtown Bryan while supporting the local arts and culture scene.
All concerts are free and concessions will be available. Due to space restrictions, no coolers will be allowed.
August 20: Austin Meade sponsored by Downtown IT – Texas singer-songwriter Austin Meade brings grit and honesty to his craft. The former drummer started writing his own music while finishing his degree at Texas A&M University. The last two years have led Austin on a journey, forging together a band and hitting the highways. You can find Austin's music somewhere between his Americana and Blues influences.
August 27: The Docs sponsored by Independence Brewing - The Docs, an emerging rock group who got their start in College Station in 2010. The Docs have since released a self-produced demo and performed at huge festivals, such as South by Southwest, the Pecan Street Festival, Rock the Republic, and Firefest. The group is known for performing their own rowdy brand of experimental, yet undeniably classic, rock and roll.
Following the Summer Sunset Series Encore concerts, live music will continue throughout the fall in Downtown Bryan with First Fridays and Football Friday (live music every Friday before a Texas A&M home football game).
