The next outstanding live performance of the Brazos Valley Symphony Orchestra’s 33rd season will be Sunday, February 8, in Rudder Theatre. This classical subscription concert entitled “James Dick Unleashes the Emperor” will feature the orchestra performing works from Mozart, Schubert, Beethoven. Pianist James Dick will perform as the soloist in Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 5, also known as the “Emperor Concerto”.
Music Director Marcelo Bussiki looks forward to working with James Dick again as the artist performed Beethoven’s Triple Concerto with the BVSO most recently in 2009. Bussiki shares, “Working with James has always been a delight and a pleasure. The insight and lyricism that he brings to his interpretation of Beethoven is at the level of some of the best performers in the world. The Emperor Concerto is not for just any artist to perform, it requires a depth of interpretation, expressiveness and maturity that only pianists like James can accomplish.”
