This annual history fair will occur Feb. 9 at the Star of the Republic Museum, on the grounds of the Washington on the Brazos State Historic Site, 23200 Park Road 12, Washington, TX 77880.
Anyone who values education and/or Texas history will enjoy volunteering at this history fair which showcases projects by 6th through 12th grade students who recently won their local school history fair. Students come from Austin, Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Waller, Washington, and part of Madison Counties.
Volunteers are needed on Feb. 9 to act as door monitors, timekeepers, and lunch helpers between the hours of 8am and 2pm.
Organizers of the fair welcome any volunteers 18 years or older who can work at least one hour. A free T-Shirt and lunch will be provided to those that help.

FYI: Winners of this Brazos Valley Regional History Fair will advance to Texas History Day in Austin, sponsored by the Texas State Historical Association. State winners will then travel to the National History Day competition at the University of Maryland, just outside the nation’s capital. National History Day is a year-long, non-profit education program dedicated to improving the teaching and learning of history.
