On June 20 from 1:30pm to 3pm, there will be a young person’s chamber music concert held at the Edythe Bates Old Chapel. Young artists in residence at Round Top Festival Institute study with master faculty to hone their skills as musicians, collaborators, and performers during the six weeks of the festival. They participate in Chamber Music Programs as part of their training. You are invited to attend this free performance and enjoy the music they make.
The next day, June 21, from 1:30pm to 3pm the Edythe Bates Old Chapel will host a violin master class led by renowned musician Regis Pasquier. Regis Pasquier was only 12 years old when he was awarded the First Prize for violin and chamber music at the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique de Paris. Two years later, he went to the United States to give a recital in New York, where he met Zino Francescatti who requested his collaboration to record Johann Sebastian Bach's concerto for two violins. From that moment Regis Pasquier entered the very exclusive circle of great violinists of world fame. There is no admission charge, and all are welcome!
Musician Brett Deubner will teach a free viola master class on June 22, from 1:30pm to 3pm will be held in the Edythe Bates Old Chapel. Brett Deubner, one of this generation's most accomplished violists, has inspired worldwide critical acclaim for his powerful intensity and sumptuous tone. He is on the faculty at the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College in New York City.
On June 23 from 1:30pm to 3pm Emilio Colon will host a free cello master class at the Edythe Bates Old Chapel. Emilio Colon is celebrated as a passionate and virtuosic performer, in demand as a solo cellist, chamber musician, conductor, composer and pedagogue. An extensive international career has taken him throughout the United States, Canada, Latin and South Americas, Europe and Asia.
A Chamber Music Concert will be held at the Edythe Bates Old Chapel on Saturday, June 25, from 1:30pm to 2:30pm. Tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for students. The performance will include Serenade Op. 141a (1915) and Octet for Winds in E-flat, Op. 103 (1792.)
The same day, from 3:30pm to 5pm at the Festival Concert Hall, there will be another Chamber Music Concert. Tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for students. The concert will feature Octet in E-flat for Strings, Op. 20 (1825) and Septet in d, Op. 74 (1816.)
The Texas Festival Orchestra will be held at the Festival Concert Hall on June 25 from 7:30m to 9:15pm. Tickets are $30 for adults and $10 for students. The conductor will be Charles Olivieri-Munroe and will feature several pieces, including Le Corsaire, Overture (1844) and Concerto for Violin and Orchestra No. 1 in D, Op. 19.
