Beginning Aug. 1, the city of College Station will welcome several familiar faces to its new tourism operation.
Director of Economic Development Natalie Ruiz announced Wednesday that the team she is building to generate overnight stays and spending via sports tourism, meetings and conventions, and leisure travel will include current Experience Bryan College Station and Bryan College Station Sports + Events staff members.
Kindra Fry, president/CEO of EBCS, will take a leadership role with the new operation. Joining her in recruiting sports and events to College Station will be Dominique Powell, Courtney Fegter, Zach Tigert, and Bishop Turon. Attracting conventions to the city will be led by Sophie Curtis, Kendra Davis, Jo Beth Wolfe, and Sammi Trehern.
"These local tourism specialists will join College Station's existing sports tourism, marketing, and economic development teams to strategically focus on the expedited recovery and success of College Station's hospitality industry and overall economy," Ruiz says.
According to Ruiz, College Station's new tourism operation will continue to take shape over the coming months, including continual engagement with the community's many strategic partners.
