The Blinn College District Marketing and Communications Department has won two 2020 Collegiate Advertising Awards for publications marketing Blinn’s athletics and engineering programs.
Blinn received the Gold Award for its 2019-20 Winter/Spring Athletics Recruiting Guide, which previewed the baseball, softball, men’s and women’s basketball, and inaugural men’s and women’s golf seasons. The publication included team schedules, rosters, and bios, highlighting the Blinn Athletic Department’s facilities and academic support for student athletes. The recruiting guide was produced by Assistant Director of Marketing and Creative Services Darla Arter and Sports Information Specialist Tara Dreyer with support from Athletic Director Scott Schumacher and the team coaching staffs.
Blinn also earned the Silver Award for a presentation folder and inserts describing its Engineering Department and the academic pathways available to students, including Blinn’s Associate of Science Degree in Engineering, the Texas A&M Engineering Academy at Blinn-Brenham, and the Texas A&M Engineering at Blinn program offered at the RELLIS Campus. The folder was designed by Arter with support from Max Hibbs, dean of engineering, computer technology, and innovation, and Ashley Hermes, engineering programs director.
“We are very proud of the way these pieces showcase the Blinn College experience and highlight the quality and innovation of our programs,” says Richard Bray, director of communications, media relations, and marketing. “It is an honor to share Blinn’s beautiful campuses and outstanding programs with future students across the state.”
