Manda Jackson and her mother, Wanda McGill, have a personal mission they are sharing with the public. They created and are selling Law Enforcement Support Wristbands to raise money for the 100 Club of Houston, a nonprofit that supports dependents of law enforcement officers and firefighters killed in the line of duty.
“[My mom’s] the one who started it,” says Jackson, who has been a print advisor at Insite Printing & Graphic Services for eight years. “She just wanted to do something to help support law enforcement, especially with everything that’s going on right now in the media.”
The 100 Club is a national organization that financially supports dependents of law enforcement officers and firefighters killed in the line of duty. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the wristbands will be going to support this cause, Jackson said.
The wristbands come in two different styles, one for officers and one for those who want to show support. One band includes a thin blue line with the words “I Support Law Enforcement,” which is available to the general public. The wristbands are $2 each. A second style has only a thin blue line with no text and is available at no charge to any officer who requests one.
Wristbands may be purchased at the Insite Printing & Graphic Services building in Downtown Bryan at 123 E Wm J Bryan Parkway during normal business hours. More than 100 bands have already been sold. For more information, call Jackson at (979) 255-0382.
