Cynthia Christner, owner of Square One, and Sandy Farris, executive director of the Downtown Bryan Association, were both awarded the Mayor's Downtown Impact Award on Dec. 14 at the 18th Annual Mayor's Downtown Impact Award ceremony.
The Mayor's Downtown Impact Award, created in 2000, celebrates progress in the city's oldest business district, while recognizing those who go above and beyond to contribute to this progress. Every year, there are organizations and individuals whose positive impact on revitalization efforts in Historic Downtown Bryan is simply extraordinary.
Recognized as a cultural district in 2014, Downtown Bryan has seen overwhelming success with First Fridays and other special events while continuing to grow, offering additional amenities for residents and visitors alike.
"We, at the City of Bryan, know that when visitors have a great experience in Downtown Bryan, they will return," says Mayor Andrew Nelson. "They will return with friends and family."
This award serves as a way to recognize those who continue to invest time, effort, and resources into making Bryan an even better place to visit and to call home.
