The Arts Council is excited to welcome both 2021 Navasota Artists in Residence, Jacob Jimerson and Arienne Boley. Jimerson and Boley specialize in ceramics and painting, respectively, and both artists will move into the Horlock Art Gallery & History Museum this week.
Jimerson will continue to develop his body of work "Beauty, Utility, Fragility" and will carry on his work exploiting the world of ceramic sculpture. He is interested in a career in the museum industry installing and planning exhibitions.
Meanwhile, Boley is focusing on painting that which he finds "beautiful and interesting." "Everyday I see in nature, antiquity, and humanity an everlasting stream of stories and narratives that evoke my imagination," Boley says. "My goal is to take those moments, interpret them through my own lens, and craft them into my work.”
