- WHEN June 14th - 10am to noon
- WHERE Clara B. Mounce Public Library - 201 E. 26th Street in Bryan
This free event is dedicated in memory of Mr. Thabiti Ngozi, the Chairman of the 1st Annual Juneteenth Children's Art Festival and former President of Brazos Festival of African Art. Ms. Bobbee Pennington, Family Literacy Librarian at Clara B. Mounce Public Library, had a front row seat to the creation of this annual celebration. With the aid and guidance of Mr. Ngozi, Mr. Oliver Sadberry (Curator of the Brazos Valley African American Museum), and the late Mr. Ronnie Jackson (former Neighborhood and Youth Outreach Coordinator for the City of Bryan), Ms. Pennington helped organize the first event and has continued to coordinate the celebration each year ever since.
