The Arts Council of Brazos Valley (ACBV) announces their Navasota Artist in Residences’ new exhibit, on display at the Horlock House from Aug. 5–Sept. 8, Thursday through Sunday from 12 p.m.–5 p.m. There will be an opening reception Thursday, Aug. 12 from 5:30–7 p.m.
This gallery is the culmination of both artists’ residency. Each artist works in different mediums, as such the Horlock House will host two exhibits:
Jacob Jimerson will end his time with the exhibit Common Ground. When asked about his work, Jacob states, “The work explores these interactions and the ideas of the man-made vs. the natural and the interior self vs. the exterior world through elements of metaphor, spatial juxtaposition, and visual references to cityscapes and nature.”
Arienne Boly will end her time with the exhibit Boots and Booties. When asked about her work, Arienne states that “Her work is heavily focused on story telling. She creates visual entertainment by capturing the life and narratives she is surrounded by, while developing them into a whole new perspective.”
