Enjoy two great markets in one small town on Sept. 5 in downtown Bellville.
Market Day on the Square will be held Saturday 9am to 4pm. Several food trucks and booths will be there offering barbeque plates, turkey legs, boudin, fresh-squeezed lemonade, custom cut fruit cups, fresh roasted corn on the cob, street tacos, hot fresh kettle corn, canned goods, salsas, and freshly baked goods.
There will be music all day with KTEX Radio’s Trail Boss Troy, a family fishing and camping themed photo booth, and more than fifty tented vendors— including two rolling clothing boutiques with specialties for women and children. Shoppers will enjoy metal and woodworking, crafts, jewelry, purses, artisans, plants, yard art and signs, furniture, barbeque pits, fundraisers, professional services, and many more retail favorites. Step into each of the unique shops/boutiques right there on the square with vendors ready to help add to your shopping experience!
Located within just walking distance of the square, the Fresh Farmers and Artisan Market runs from 9am to 12pm.
Early bird shoppers will find many vendors ready by 8am when they visit the Jim Bishop Pavilion at the corner of Palm and Bell. Area growers and ranchers will have a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, herbs and plants, grass-fed beef, jams and jellies, and baked goods, individual treats, and farm eggs. There will also be organic local honey, hummus, pita bread, baklava and other Greek treats, handmade milkshakes to order, hand-dipped Blue Bell Ice Cream, a huge selection of freeze-dried sweets, fruits and vegetable olive oils, flavored vinegars, artisan jewelry, hot tea and coffee, and more. A voter registration table will also be available on site. Visitors can then enjoy their farm fresh finds in the adjacent and beautiful Chesley Park and playground.
