Join Bernhardt Winery owners Jerry and Jerri Bernhardt, along with Wine Club Managers Jonathan Schrock and Penny Funk and Assistant Wine Maker Michael Nance, celebrating the Grand Opening of the Bernhardt Winery Soleil Wine Club on Saturday, May 13 from noon to 6pm. The Grand Barrel Party will be held in the beautiful new Soleil Events room exclusively for wine club members. At this first wine club pick up party, members will be invited to enjoy a taste of two award-winning wines, beautifully aged in oak, right out of the barrels. Members will have the option to select four bottles of their choice from the wonderful, award-winning, handcrafted small batch wines made at Bernhardt Winery.
Each Soleil Wine Club pickup party will be paired with a special Bernhardt Winery public event. On May 13, wine club members are also invited to stroll the Vino Piazza Primavera, Bernhardt Winery’s Spring Artisan Marketplace, to discover distinctive and unique creations and products by local artists, craftspeople and entrepreneurs who will be on hand displaying their goods for Mother’s Day weekend. Wine club members may join the day’s festivities and relax with a glass of wine on the new Courtyard. Bernhardt Winery will also be featuring the Grand Opening of the wood-fired pizzas, offering a selection of fresh toppings, hot out of the firebrick oven.
Bernhardt Winery, known as the “Hill Country of Houston,” is a small mom and pop boutique winery producing classic varietals and unique blends. The Tuscan-style tasting room sits on top of a beautiful hill in Plantersville overlooking endless hills and valleys, much like Tuscany. They carry traditional wine merchandise, along with fine jellies, jams and sauces. The winery and vineyard is located just eight miles from historic Montgomery, birthplace of the Lone Star flag, and 17 miles from Navasota, the Blues capital of Texas and home to numerous antique stores. Enjoy a romantic getaway in the Loft or Suite, the cozy Bed & Breakfast rooms above the winery. Also enjoy live entertainment on the lawn Sunday evenings from mid-April through mid-November.
The Grand Barrel Party will be the first of three annual pickup parties for Soleil Wine Club members. As a member, you enjoy many unique Bernhardt Winery benefits and discounts. There is no fee to join and become a member. Special discounts include 10 percent off all wines and store merchandise. Free tours and up to six complimentary tastings or glasses of wine (total) per year are awarded to each membership. These can be enjoyed or shared with friends. Members receive periodic emails listing special discounts to select winery events, club events, and activities. At select winery concerts and events, wine club members will have access to an express line bar to purchase wine by the bottle or glass. Members will have an option to purchase newly released wines before they are released to the public. The winery will also be producing specialty small batch series of wines available only to the wine club. An invitation to the pickup party will be sent out three times per year where members may have the option to choose their wines. Members will also have one month after the pickup party to visit the winery and pick up their shipment choosing to take the recommended wines or make a personal selection.
There are four levels of club memberships offered that allow for a variety of choices. The Wine Maker’s Select club is the “winemaker’s choice” and will be a selection of reds, whites, sweets and drys. The Reds club is a selection right from the cellar that have been barrel aged in an assortment of French and American oak, bottled at the peak of perfection; you may choose an all dry, all sweet, or a mixed sweet and dry red club. The Whites club are selections ranging from light, fruity and floral to those that are bold, creamy and finished with a hint of oak; you may choose an all dry, all sweet, or a mixed sweet and dry white club. The Red and White club will be a selection from both red wines and white wines; all dry or all sweet is offered.
