On Tuesday, Dec. 12, from 5:30pm to 7:30pm, the Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History will host the 8th annual Holiday Showcase. Visitors at this free event can browse through the gift shop and museum galleries, visit with authors and artists, and enjoy live music, wine, and hors d'oeuvres.
Live music will be performed by Joey McGee and guests will have a chance to purchase beautifully crafted items for the Holidays. Talented local artists will be available to answer questions about the artistic items on sale. Shoppers can get in the Holiday spirit with this entertaining and unique experience! It is also a great opportunity to view the Museum’s new exhibit, Horse Power: The Story of Horse-Drawn Vehicles.
This exclusive in-house created exhibition features exquisite miniature handmade vehicles recently acquired by the Museum. Also on display are antique artifacts, historic photographs, and three beautiful full-size vehicles including an antique funeral coach from the National Museum of Funeral History, a local historic Texas wagon, and a carriage, used in the 2010 film True Grit, from the Buggy Barn Museum.
The Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History is open to visitors Tuesday-Saturday from 10am – 5pm. Admission fees for adults cost $5; seniors, students, and children cost $4; and children 3 and under may enter for free.
