Some people make resolutions to experience more once-in-a-lifetime moments in the New Year, and Brazos Valley Symphony Orchestra™ is delivering just that in April. Now that the BVSO™ season of “New Heights” is well underway, the BVSO™ has released all individually available tickets for the highly anticipated “An Evening with Leslie Odom, Jr.” season finale concert.
The BVSO™ 37th season closes in high style with “An Evening with Leslie Odom, Jr.” on April 28 at 5pm in Rudder Auditorium as Bussiki and the BVSO™ present another outstanding pops concert to close the season after last year’s stunning performance with The Texas Tenors. Special guest Leslie Odom, Jr. took Broadway by storm when he originated the role of Aaron Burr in the blockbuster musical Hamilton and won the 2016 Tony Award for Best Leading Actor in a Musical. His impressive career has spanned television, film, and theatre. After making his Broadway debut at 17 in Rent, the acclaimed star of stage and screen has gone on to be featured in television’s Smash, The Good Wife, and Grey's Anatomy and most recently he played the role of Dr. Arbuthnot in Kenneth Branagh's 2017 film adaptation of Murder on The Orient Express. In 2018, he even sang America the Beautiful on the NBC broadcast of Super Bowl LII. Now, he joins the BVSO™ for what is sure to be the pinnacle of the “New Heights” season.
“This Tony® Award winning Hamilton star has been selling out auditoriums around the country!” says Executive Director Mary Koeninger. “I have heard nothing but amazing things about Odom—he is everywhere right now from screen to stage, and national commercials to the Kennedy Center! Purchase tickets as soon as you possibly can for the very best seats and for an unforgettable season finale!”
This concert will have assigned seating and symphony patrons can personally select their seats via the MSC Box Office website at www.boxoffice.tamu.edu or by calling (979) 845-1234. Various price points are available for this performance ranging from $35 to $80.
“Leslie Odom, Jr. is not performing this season in Houston or Austin, but he is performing in Bryan College Station with the BVSO™,” Koeninger shares. “These prices are phenomenal for this caliber of performance in Texas. Concert goers can easily come in from out of town to attend this performance and return home that evening or stay overnight in one of our beautiful hotels."
