After a long migration, the quacks are back for the 2018 Ducky Derby, benefiting the Children’s Museum of the Brazos Valley. The rubber duckies will launch from the tower at Lake Walk Town Center to kick-off the Atlas Glow Run on Saturday, May 5. Participants can adopt a ducky for a chance to win fabulous prizes — including free Chick-Fil-A for a year, a Stay-Cation at The Stella Hotel, and the grand prize: a Wolf RX50 Scooter from Scoots Aggieland.
The Ducky Derby is in partnership with the Atlas Glow Run and Glow Night at Lake Walk. Registration and packet pick-up for the race begins at 6pm, the Ducky Derby will begin at 8pm, and the Atlas Glow Run will commence right after. To adopt a duck, stop by the Museum, call (979) 779-5437, or visit www.cmbv.org. It coasts $10 to adopt one duck, $50 to adopt a Six-Quack of six ducks, or $100 to adopt a Quackers Dozen of 13 ducks. You do not need to be present at the event to win.
About the Children’s Museum of the Brazos Valley: The mission of The Children's Museum of the Brazos Valley is to provide a child-centered, hands-on, interactive environment for learning and discovery. Since 1995, The Children’s Museum has welcomed tens of thousands of visitors through its doors and brought learning through play into actuality. While The Museum began as a museum without walls, today it is home to 16 different interactive educational exhibits that foster a love of learning and inspire young minds throughout the years. The Museum also boasts special programming and reading times that are designed for children and families to learn together through play, to put into practice what children are learning in the classroom, and to take practical learning skills home for continued discovery.
