Tis the season for holiday shows in the Brazos Valley! OPAS has three unique family friendly holiday programs coming to Texas A&M University the first week of December. Christmas comes early with one-night-only concerts by The Midtown Men (Dec. 3, 7:30pm • Rudder Auditorium) and Boston Brass & The Brass All-Stars Big Band (Dec. 5, 7:30pm • Rudder Theatre). Plus, families have two chances to enjoy a musical version of the Charles Dickens classic, A Christmas Carol (Dec. 8, 3pm & 7:30pm • Rudder Theatre). Tickets to all of these events are on sale now at the MSC Box Office (979) 845-1234 and online at www.MSCOPAS.org. Additional information about these programs follows.
OPAS Executive Director Anne Black states, “We know it’s a busy time of year for everyone, but we hope families will include at least one of these programs in their families’ holiday plans. This year, we are fortunate to present several offerings for the holiday season. These three programs were selected because they are uniquely different. One is a rock ‘n’ roll holiday concert by Broadway stars. One is a huge brass concert. And the last is a heart-warming treat of a musical that tells a story that all families should enjoy together at least once.” Black concludes, “As Tiny Tim says, 'God bless us everyone!'”
The week of holiday programs gets off to a rockin’ start on Tuesday, Dec. 3, with the stars from the original Broadway cast of Jersey Boys! Robert Spencer, along with Michael Longoria and Daniel Reichard, have been rockin’ venues across the country. Backed by an explosive band, the boys will sing and dance their way through a concert blending iconic 1960s rock 'n' roll hits with great holiday classics. Enjoy favorites like Winter Wonderland, Christmas Waltz, Let It Snow, White Christmas, and Happy Holidays performed with the group's dynamic choreography, electrifying arrangements, and of course, signature four-part harmony! This Charles Dickens tale is a heartwarming holiday favorite that shares the immortal story of redemption. Celebrate the magic and mystery of Christmas in this unforgettable visit to Rudder Theatre.
