Destination Bryan invites the public to celebrate the Fourth of July with a full weekend of local festivities and events taking place July 2–4.
On Friday, July 2 beginning at 5 p.m., First Friday will transform the streets of Historic Downtown Bryan into one big stage with live music, performances, art demonstrations, and interactive events and activities. This free, family-friendly event will feature a performance from Keyun & The Zydeco Masters at the Palace Theater. Shops and restaurants will be open late into the evening, and the Brazos Valley Farmers' Market will be selling locally grown produce and handmade goods along Main Street in front of the Queen Theatre from 5–9 p.m. Visitors can also view live art demonstrations and support local artists with LIVEart near The Village on 26th Street.
Families can enjoy two events at Lake Walk Saturday, July 3. The Children’s Museum of the Brazos Valley will host Little Firecrackers from 3–6 p.m. The free event will feature cookie decorating with Alchemy Cookies, crafts and activities, a visit from Charity the Clown, and a dance party. Participants can stay afterward for an Eats & Beats Concert at Lake Walk beginning at 7:30 p.m. The free, family-friendly, outdoor event will feature South Texas country artist Matt Castillo, as well as dinner from local food trucks.
The festivities continue July 4 with Independence Day celebrations. The community can join Bryan’s Eastside Historic District for a free event in Heritage Park from 9:30 a.m.–noon. All ages are welcome, and activities include a flag raising ceremony, face painting, a children’s parade, patriotic tunes, free watermelon from The Farm Patch, refreshing lemonade, and multiple exhibit booths. That evening, The Texas A&M University System will host its second annual Fireworks and Drone Show at the RELLIS campus. Tune in live to WTAW (FM 94.5) for patriotic music synced to the fireworks. Parking begins at 6:30 p.m. with the 30-minute fireworks starting at 9 p.m. The free, drive-in event will also be streamed online.
