WHAT: El día de los niños/El día de los libros WHERE: Clara B. Mounce Public Library - 201 E. 26th Street, Bryan WHEN: Sunday, April 30th - 3:30pm to 4:30pm
Día is a daily celebration of children, families, and reading that culminates annually on April 30th to renew local communities' year-round commitment to connecting children with diverse books and programming opportunities. This one-day festivity is an enhancement of Children's Day, an annual event that began in 1925, held to celebrate children and childhood. Pat Mora, a nationally acclaimed children's author, proposed linking the celebration of childhood and children with literacy in 1996 to found El día de los ninos/El día de los libros.
