Mark your calendars as the Brazos Valley Symphony Orchestra will be presenting the highly anticipated eighth annual Premiere Market event this April.
Shoppers from all over will enjoy the various booths with merchants selling their unique specialty items, including accessories for the home, gourmet foods, designer clothing for adults and children, and educational toys. There is something for everyone at Premiere Market.
The Brazos Valley Symphony Society has presented this event to the community each year, and this year it will be held on Friday and Saturday, April 3 and 4, at the Brazos County Expo Center. Proceeds from the market benefit the cultural and educational programs of the Brazos Valley Symphony Orchestra.
Eva Read-Warden, chair of the volunteer Premiere Market Committee, shares her thoughts on why this is a great event in the Brazos Valley. “Premiere Market offers the most unique shopping experience, bringing merchants to the Expo Center with beautiful clothing, jewelry, gourmet foods, home items, and specialty goods - all in a fun and festive environment.” She adds, “Our committee is striving to not only bring back the quality the community has come to expect at our market, but also to increase the number of fabulous merchants. In addition, we are adding spring plants for sale.”
The market will be open to the public from 9am to 5pm on Friday and Saturday. Premiere Market is the ideal place for shoppers to take care of all of their spring shopping needs just in time for Easter, Mother’s Day, graduations, Father’s Day, and even summer weddings. Yet, no special occasion is needed to indulge in shopping that benefits a great cause, as 10% of all purchases made at Premiere Market go toward the Brazos Valley Symphony Orchestra.
The two-day shopping pass will be on sale online and at the door for just $5, and the price includes entry to the Premiere Market on both Friday and Saturday. Shoppers can come and go as many times as they need to with the two-day pass.
Market organizers have prepared special events for its shoppers to stay entertained. The market will kick off with Muffins, Mimosas & More. On Friday from 9am to 11am, guests who pay $20 will indulge in a complimentary mimosa or a non-alcoholic alternative. The event will also offer delicious muffins, a gourmet coffee bar, and other breakfast goodies to compliment their shopping experience without the need to worry about breakfast before leaving the house in the morning.
The $20 paid towards the “Muffins” event also includes the two-day shopping pass. Due to the popularity of this event, shoppers are encouraged to make their reservations online in advance through the Premiere Market website.
Read-Warden describes that her favorite part of the market are the special events. “Muffins and Mimosas has become a Friday morning tradition, complete with music, which brings back many loyal shoppers,” Read-Warden says.
On Saturday, the fun continues with Bellini Brunch - a morning filled with tasty new Bellini recipes sure to please and enhance the shopping experience.
During all market hours, the Premiere Market Bistro Café will serve a variety of delicious, lunch-like offerings for shoppers, so there is no need to plan around meal times as you can shop and then eat on site, and then shop some more.
Lastly, Premiere Market is a crucial fundraising event for the BVSO. Events like these are critical to enable the symphony to host the quality programs to which the community has become accustomed, including elite musicians and guest artists.
