Celebrate the holiday season in Downtown Bryan on First Friday, December 4. With thousands of lights on buildings and in trees, Downtown Bryan is aglow with holiday splendor. Live performances from Davila and Rayburn Theatres begin at 6 p.m. in the Palace Theater, then holiday music will fill the air at 7pm, with Rudder Band and the Texas A&M Century Singers.
At 9pm, up and coming country singer Olivia Lane will take the stage. Olivia was named as one of Rolling Stone's "Ten New Country Artists You Need To Know" in November. All performances in the Palace Theater are free thanks to Aggie 96 and Allen Honda.
From antiques to boutiques and paintings to purses, Downtown Bryan is a great place to find one-of-a-kind Christmas gifts. For every $50 spent during a single transaction, you will receive one Downtown Dollar which enters your name to be drawn for a multitude of gift cards and prizes. There is no limit on how many times you can be entered and Downtown Dollars runs all the way through Christmas.
Also be sure to visit the BinarySpace Maker's Fair or the Amity Night Bazaar during First Friday. Both events will feature handmade goods from local artisans.
Stop by the north end of Downtown to welcome Downtown Bryan’s newest member, Blackwater Draw Brewing Company. Located at 701 N. Main, the Blackwater Draw tasting room will be open beginning at 4pm and, with tables located inside, you can enjoy a locally brewed beer inside the new facility.
In addition to all these great features, there are also art shows openings, a live production of "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever," free community yoga at Om Grown Yoga, and more. Visit downtownbryan.com for a full listing of events.
