Bellville will celebrate Texas’s Birthday weekend on Saturday, March 6, with two events in their downtown area. Admission and parking for both events is free.
The Fresh Farmers & Artisan Market runs from 9 a.m. to noon at Jim Bishop Pavilion, adjacent to Chesley Park. Area growers & ranchers will have produce, herbs and plants, micro-greens, wine tasting, custom floral arrangements, grass-fed beef, gulf shrimp, nut butters, jams and jellies, baked goods, and farm eggs. There will also be organic local honey, olive oils, flavored vinegars, Indian cuisine, artisan jewelry, embroidery, herbal teas and coffee, and a prayer booth.
Within walking distance, Market Day on the Square runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Food trucks will serve pit-smoked BBQ meals, jerk chicken wings, pulled pork sliders, homemade sides, fresh roasted corn, gyros, tamales, and freshly-squeezed lemonade. There will also be sweet treats, including alcohol-infused frozen treats, cupcakes, petit macarons, whole cakes, and candy apples.
Over 65 tented vendors will be in attendance, selling clothing, furniture, crafts, yard art, plants, and artisanal goods. Two wineries will be onsite offering tastings, and there will be fundraisers and a gun raffle.
Music will be provided by KTEX Radio’s Trail Boss Troy, and the Christian Motorcycle Association Highway Servants will host a side car photo booth.
