The annual Brazos Valley Worldfest will be held Friday and Saturday at the Wolf Pen Creek Amphitheater. The free event promotes and celebrates the diversity and heritage of the Brazos Valley.
Organized by the City of College Station and Texas A&M University, Worldfest includes more than 50 culture booths, 15 international cuisine food booths and 20 performances on two stages. Look at the schedule of performances on each of the stages here. The Bedouin camp features live camels, an African storyteller and a children’s craft area.
Friday’s schedule runs from 6pm to 8pm and begins with a concert by Rudy Rincon and Grupo Kache. The artists play the combined music of Puerto Rico, Cuba, and traditional Afro-Caribbean arrangements, with a dance mix of reggae and samba.
Saturday’s activities run from 10am to 5pm and feature the Salsa Challenge competition, which includes amateur and professional categories. Festival attendees can sample the professional entries and vote for the best salsa in the Brazos Valley.
