The City of College Station’s Lincoln Recreation Center will celebrate African American History Month with a series of events starting Monday, February 16, 2013.
Monday, Feb. 16, 7pm: Freedom, do you have it?
A praise and inspirational celebration featuring speaker Dr. Jacqui King of First United Methodist Church.
Tuesday, Feb. 17, 7pm: Roots
Lincoln Recreation Center Supervisor Lance Jackson will share his story and give advice on how to trace your family history.
Thursday, Feb. 18, 11:30am-1:30pm: Soul Food Luncheon
The $8-per-place luncheon will consist of a choice of meats, vegetables and dessert prepared by Helen Washington and LaVerne Young- Hawkins. Only cash will be accepted.
Thursday, Feb 19, 6:30pm: Inner City Blues to Bling Bling
The featured speaker will be Houston’s Maco L. Faniel.
