“In the wine business there are a fair share of opportunities to submit for awards, but it is truly an honor to see our Estate Vineyard and restaurant, The Vintage House, recognized as well,” said Paul Bonarrigo, owner of Messina Hof Winery. He continued, “so much love and hard work goes into making our award-winning wines, but an equal amount of dedication and creativity is put in by our property’s onsite hospitality and culinary team. We are thrilled to see our Vineyard Cuisine™ concept and The Vintage House Restaurant be appreciated on a national scale. We look forward to continuing to welcome guests to share in the outstanding food and wine experience The Vintage House was credited with by the USA TODAY voters.”
The award follows Messina Hof’s takeover at the famed James Beard House in New York City showcasing its culinary program and a selection of its lauded wines. Taking place earlier this summer and led by Vintage House chefs Chris Shepley and Glenn Huggins, the five-course dinner showcased the restaurant’s signature Vineyard Cuisine, which incorporates Messina Hof’s 100 percent Texas wine into each dish, and highlighted food and wine pairing affinities. The memorable event titled “40 Years of Vineyard Life” featured two generations of the Bonarrigo family winemakers, Founders Paul Vincent Bonarrigo and Merrill Bonarrigo alongside CEO/Owner and Head Winemaker Paul Mitchell Bonarrigo and Karen Bonarrigo.
A leader in the wine industry and the largest producer of 100 percentTexas wines, Messina Hof is the most awarded winery in the state. The Vintage House was also named one of OpenTable’s “Top 100 Most Romantic Restaurants in America” in 2015.
