Auditions for Majorie Prime by Jordan Harrison will be held at the Navasota Theatre Alliance Sunny Furman Theatre on Sunday, Jan. 26, at 6pm. Produced by the Navasota Theatre Alliance, director Evleen Nasir seeks actors and actresses, along with stage crew and supporting stage hands. This live theatre production runs from March 27-29.
In Majorie Prime, it’s the age of artificial intelligence, and 85-year-old Marjorie — a jumble of disparate, fading memories — has a handsome new companion who’s programmed to feed the story of her life back to her. What would we remember, and what would we forget, if given a chance? In this richly spare, wondrous new play, Jordan Harrison explores the mysteries of human identity and the limits — if any — of what technology can replace.
This show is part of NTA's new series called Blackbox shows. The proceeds of these Blackbox shows will be donated to an organization in our community and admission will be free of charge/give-what-you-can.
