The Navasota Theatre Alliance is proud to announce the opening Feb. 22 through March 10 for 11 performances, the audience-participation murder-mystery comedy You Have the Right to Remain Dead, written by Pat Cook. Presented with permission by Dramatic Publishing and made possible through the Hotel Tax Revenue funded through the City of Navasota through The Arts Council of the Brazos Valley.
Poor Steve Randall. He answered an "Actor Needed" ad in the newspaper, but the wrong character wound up dead. Now he finds himself in the middle of a murder investigation, but Steve isn't the only suspect. Could the culprit be Doris, the afghan-knitting actress who dated the victim? Or Leigh, who dated him as well? Is Officer Bainbridge even really a police officer? Suspects and motives abound in You Have the Right to Remain Dead, the latest offering from Navasota Theatre Alliance. In this interactive production, audience members will have access to clues and the ability to question the cast. But watch out! Anyone could end up a suspect in this comedy murder-mystery guaranteed to keep you guessing till the very end.
Director Jane Brewer says, "This show requires top quality actors. Not only do many of them have to change characters mid-show, but they also have to have improvisational skills, since there is no predicting what an audience member will say. Fortunately, I have a great cast that is equal to the challenge!"
Tickets and memberships (which include either discounted or courtesy tickets) are available on the Navasota Theatre Alliance website at www.navasotatheatre.org or by contacting them at (936) 825-3195 or navasotatheatrealliance@gmail.com. Auditions for the plays will be posted and publicized.
