SEAD Gallery announces its newest installation “An Abstract Ontology: Visual Expressions Of Human Fugues” by native Texan artist Charles Wallis. Wallis’s newest exhibit will be his first of exclusively all-abstract works. This exhibition will be on display September 15-November 12 with an opening reception on September 15 at 6:00pm in the SEAD Gallery.
Wallis’ carefully curated exhibit of paintings are an expression of his spirit. His title ties two featured concepts in his work together: ontology and fugues. Ontology is the nature of being, such as feelings, thoughts, and beliefs, in harmonious existence with our bodies. Fugues is the repetition of shapes, colors, and movement of elements and patterns in brush work, which together represent the feeling of the mind transcending the body.
Charles Wallis is a graduate of Baylor University’s Art program. He was influenced to pursue art at a young age, when an elderly woman from his church gifted him with art supplies. After graduating college, he began his professional art career by opening a graphic design studio. His transition from landscape to abstract will unveil another facet of his artistic excellence.
Join SEAD Gallery in welcoming Wallis and his artwork to the gallery this Thursday! His beautiful blend of colors will offer you a chance to reflect. Until then, you can learn more about the artist at his website: www.charleswallis.com. For more information, visit seadgallery.com.
