SEAD Gallery will present the new exhibit “Lively Desert” by local artist and Texas A&M University alumna Danika Ostrowksi. Danika paints landscapes inspired by her travels throughout the state of Texas. The exhibition will be on display September 3 - November 28, with an opening reception on September 3, at 6:30pm in the SEAD Gallery.
Her paintings explore the beauty of scarce and deserted environments by examining and abstracting the lively color and forms found in unexpected places. Landscapes, geological forms, and native plants of Big Bend are the subject in her newest work.
Danika Ostrowski was born and raised in Houston, where her two artistic parents encouraged and inspired her to pursue the field of art. She graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in Visualization. There, Danika had the opportunity to study subjects under an umbrella of creative fields, including painting and graphic design.
SEAD Gallery is located in the Federal Building at 216 W. 26th Street in Historic Downtown Bryan. By hosting exhibits juried by Arts Council of the Brazos Valley and featuring periodic shows by area arts and visualization students, SEAD Gallery provides a new downtown venue for arts and cultural exchange. SEAD Gallery is a community development project of Advent GX, a community and economic development firm working to encourage innovation and discover new ways to understand and positively impact our communities and our world.
