OPAS will present the multimedia concert event The Denver Post calls, “The next best thing to seeing The Beatles!” – Rain: A Tribute To The Beatles on Friday, February 13, 7:30pm in Rudder Auditorium at Texas A&M University. Tickets are on sale now at the MSC Box Office (979) 845-1234 and online at www.MSCOPAS.org. The performance is sponsored by Blue Bell Creameries.
Rain will perform the full range of The Beatles' discography live onstage, including the most complex and challenging songs that The Beatles themselves recorded in the studio but never performed for an audience. In addition to the updated sets that include brand new LED, high-definition screens and multimedia content, new songs have also been added to the 2015 Tour.
Together longer than The Beatles, Rain has mastered every song, gesture and nuance of the legendary foursome, delivering a totally live, note-for-note performance that’s as infectious as it is transporting. From the early hits to later classics (“I Want To Hold Your Hand,” “Hard Day’s Night,” “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band,” “Let It Be,” “Come Together,” “Hey Jude” and more), this adoring tribute will take you back to a time when all you needed was love, and got by with a little help from your friends.
In addition to a number of successful national and world tours, Rain: A Tribute To The Beatles enjoyed a successful run on Broadway from October 26, 2010, to July 31, 2011, at the Brooks Atkinson and Neil Simon Theatres.
OPAS Executive Director Anne Black explains, “We presented Rain five seasons ago and patrons have been requesting we bring it back to Rudder Auditorium for a return engagement ever since. This is a much bigger show with more music and even more multimedia. Since announcing it as part of our ‘Good Times’ season, it’s been one of the most popular events. Tickets are selling fast!”
