The SEAD Gallery is excited to exhibit their first ever juried fiber arts show, Intersections. The opening reception for Intersections will be held on Sept. 21 from 6:30pm to 8pm. From then until Nov. 11, SEAD will be home to a variety of fiber arts pieces and their artists.
The guest juror for Intersections, Amie Adelman, is an Associate Professor and Fibers Coordinator at University of North Texas. Adelman has conducted textile research in more than 10 countries and has been exhibiting artwork nationally and internationally for 20 years. Her artwork has been published in numerous books and in a variety of journals such as American Craft, Fiberarts, Fiber Arts Now, and Surface Design.
SEAD has been searching for fiber artists all across Texas for several months now and are thrilled to have the show complete. Of the many entries submitted, Adelman was able to narrow it down to these finalists; Asic Mitchell, Bailey Currie, Helen DeWolf, Janice Drees, Jayde Archbold, Judy Row, Judy Beskow, Kim Paxson, Laurie Clark, Laurie Schlitter, Lynn Williams, Mary Ann Vaca-Lambert, Robert Mertens, Silvia Sarinana, Toni Wilson, John Vessel, and Kathryn King-Metters.
All of these wonderful artists will be featured at the SEAD Gallery from Sept. 21 until Nov. 11.
