In conjunction with the current special exhibit, “History in the Making: Texas A&M Forest Service,” the George Bush Presidential Museum & Library’s first movie in the 2015 Summer Film Series will be “Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax.” The exhibit commemorates the first 100 years of the Texas Forest Service (now the Texas A&M Forest Service) as they work to conserve, protect and manage the state’s abundant natural resources.
The imaginative world of Dr. Seuss comes to life like never before in this visually spectacular adventure from the creators of “Despicable Me.” Twelve-year-old Ted will do anything to find a real live Truffula Tree in order to impress the girl of his dreams. As he embarks on his journey, Ted discovers the incredible story of the Lorax, a grumpy but charming creature who speaks for the trees. Featuring the voice talents of Danny DeVito, Ed Helms, Zac Efron, Taylor Swift, Rob Riggle, Jenny Slate and Betty White, “Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax” is filled with hilarious fun for everyone. Produced by Universal Pictures in 2012, “The Lorax” is 86 minutes long and rated PG.
Bring blankets and lawn chairs and enjoy this film under the stars by the presidential pond. Games and free refreshments will begin at 7pm, and the movie will start just after sundown.
