Texas Music Flood is hosting two Brazos Valley relief concerts to benefit short and long-term recovery efforts in areas impacted by Hurricane Harvey. The first concert was held this past weekend at Lakeside Icehouse at Lake Bryan. The second concert will be this weekend at the Palace Theatre in Downtown Bryan on Sunday, Oct. 15. Beginning at 1pm, this concert will feature Saints Analogue, Magic Girl, Tubie & the Touchstones, Joey McGee, Logan McCune, and more.
These venues are just two of more than 30 venues nationwide taking part in Texas Music Flood, the state’s largest coordinated multi-venue, multi-state relief concert series. All proceeds from the Brazos Valley events will go to the Rebuild Texas Fund established by Michael and Susan Dell with a $36 million personal donation.
“The level of outreach we’ve seen from venues and artists has been inspiring and overwhelming,” said Bucky Bachmeyer, founder of Texas-based Big Red Drum Entertainment. “Working with the Texas Music Office, we’ve received over 400 artist and dozens of venue inquiries that we’re sorting through. This is truly a testament to the love this community has for our great state and we want to do whatever we can to aid in recovery efforts.”
The initiative began with a single message to a group of organizers in the Texas and Red Dirt music community and has now grown to encompass venues in Arizona, Illinois, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and London. A comprehensive list of venues is available at www.texasmusicflood.org and is updated weekly.
“The Texas Music Office could not be more proud of our Texas music industry community and their willingness to step up to assist their fellow Texans in their times of need,” said Brendon Anthony, Director of the Texas Music Office. “Through organizations like Texas Music Flood and Rebuild Texas the music industry will affect meaningful change for those affected by this disaster.”
