This week, the Texas A&M University Veteran Resource & Support Center will be hosting three performances of “Telling Aggieland,” April 30 through May 1. These performances will be the 15th production of a larger effort called “The Telling Project,” a forum in which veterans and their family members can speak directly to their own communities concerning their experiences.
The Telling Project is a direct response to a critical disconnect between the veteran and civilian communities during a time of war. It humanizes and makes immediate what are otherwise abstract and polarizing ideas and issues. Telling Aggieland features the stories of ten Aggie veterans and family members. Telling Aggieland is sponsored by The Association of Former Students and the Academy for the Visual and Performing Arts. At the final performance on May 1 , the Texas A&M Student Veteran of the Year Award will be presented to one very deserving student veteran just prior to the show at 7pm . A reception will follow the performances on April 29 and May 1 .
