Join The Arts Council of the Brazos Valley on Feb. 5 from 2 to 4 p.m. for an opening reception to welcome Randall Light, MD into the gallery with his exhibit "Astrophotography: Exploring Celestial Mysteries." The exhibit will be on display from Feb. 1 through March 19, 2022 at the Arts Council.
This is an exhibit of astrophotography images carefully created to explore the natural beauty of the sun, moon, stars, star clusters, galaxies, and nebulae. The images have been created to be both realistic and artistic.
Dr. Light shares, "My astrophotography combines my passion for photography with my awe of the natural beauty of the night sky. It is the tool I use to artistically share the amazing beauty to be found just beyond the reach of the naked eye. It merges my need for both faith and scientific understanding of these celestial mysteries." Randall Light, MD is a neurologist who practiced in Bryan and College Station for 32 years. He has been an avid photographer since 1979 and began studying astrophotography after retiring in 2013. He has previously won awards for his photography and astrophotography. He is a member of the Brazos Valley Astronomy Club. He and his wife, Irene, have been married for 46 years. They have three children and fourteen grandchildren.
