The National Association for Intercollegiate Athletics has tabbed Bryan College Station as one of two potential host sites for the NAIA Softball World Series in 2021 and 2022.
This large-scale, national event would feature 10 teams from around the country for one week of play. Games would be played at Davis Diamond, the home of Aggie Softball on the Texas A&M University campus. Additionally, team activities would take place all week long throughout the B/CS community.
If selected as the host site, the NAIA Softball World Series is estimated to have an economic impact of more than $370,000 on the B/CS community. This includes more than 700 hotel room nights at area hotels.
Marc Burchard, senior manager of championship events for the NAIA, will be in B/CS on Friday, Feb. 7, on a site visit with Bryan College Station Sports + Events staff.
